Microbrewery

Barley and Hops Grill

& Microbrewery serves

as a great hangout for

people to relax and

unwind. They provide

American-casual

plates alongside their

in-house brewed beers

straight to you from

their glass-enclosed

brewery. Family-owned

and -operated since

1999, Barley and

Hops has an array of

craft brews with an

expansive collection

of up to 14 selections

at a time. Located in

downtown Frederick,

Brewer’s Alley

Brewer’s Alley is one

of the older breweries

in Western Maryland

and is currently

renovating to expand

the working brewery on

site. Celebrating their

20th anniversary, they

have implemented a

roof-top patio bar to

show off downtown

Frederick and create

an experience to

drink their craft beer

in. Co-opping with

Monocacy Brewing,

just a mile down the

road, Brewer’s Alley

restaurant and craft

beverages will keep you

coming back for more.

Flying Dog Brewery

With a move from

Denver, CO to

Frederick, MD, Flying

Dog Brewery pushes

the envelope for craft

brews and challenges

the traditional world

views of beer. As one of

the largest in Maryland,

this brewery has

designed a functioning

educational program for

those consumers who

crave more knowledge

of craft beer and the

way to make it called

“Flying Dog University.”

Flying Dog provides

13 year-round brews

mixed with 13 seasonal

selections and limited

releases available on-

site at the brewery.

Frey’s Brewing

Company

Frey’s Brewing

Company is a farm

brewery where the

taste and love of beer

are limitless. They use

open-fermentation

to allow their beers

to have their own

personalities and let

the ingredients that

they grow on-site do

the talking for them.

With plans to expand,

the small brewery sits

nicely in the Frederick

County area with a

selection of 16 beers

along with specialty

collaborations with

local restaurants and

will soon be opening

a tasting room.

Brewing Company

Mad Science Brewing

Company is a

farmhouse brewery that

is currently growing

six types of hops.

Using only ingredients

grown by them, Mad

Science is committed to

traditional-style brews

with tweaks from their

brewer’s taste buds

to yours. Scientist-run

and -operated, their
