In Columbia,

Blackflag Brewing Company

opened in 2016. Touted as “the first production

brewery and taproom in Columbia,” Blackflag

offers customers ten tap lines, including

five signature beers that are always on tap

and five smaller batches that rotate.

Three more small breweries are also looking to

make their mark in the local brewing scene:

Bulk

Head Brewing Company

,

Hysteria Brewing

,

and

PUSH American Brewing Company

.

PUSH is the offspring of the popular Frisco Tap

House and labels itself “Howard

County’s first craft brewery.”

Whether you want to call it

craft, independent, farm, or

micro-brewing, in the end, it all

means the same thing for those

who imbibe it—a unique taste

you won’t find anywhere else.

Beer isn’t the only

alcoholic beverage being crafted in Howard

County these days. At

Lost Ark Distilling

in

Columbia, they’re making rum and whiskey too.

Lost Ark is distilled in Maryland, is created mostly

from ingredients grown in Maryland, and is even inspired by

the history of Maryland. The company’s name pays tribute to

the state’s first settlers, who used hard work and creativity to

build new lives for themselves. Lost Ark says it takes the same

approach in its distilling process: “It is our goal that you

can taste the spirit of the Free State with every sip.”

Tin Lizzie Wineworks

is Maryland’s

premiere “make-your-own-wine” facility.

Have fun with friends and family making

your own custom-crafted, premium wines. Everything

you need, from grapes to glass, is supplied.
