NEIGHBORHOODS

SAVAGE

A glimpse of

A FORMER BUSTLING MILL TOWN,

SAVAGE WAS AN IMPORTANT

MANUFACTURING HUB IN THE

NORTHEAST FOR MORE THAN

100 YEARS.

Today, the

Savage Mill

Historic District

retains

many of the original buildings

from its heyday. The area was

placed on the National Register

of Historic Places in 1974.

Rams Head Tavern

features aged

Black Angus beef and fresh (never frozen!)

seafood. Open seven days a week, it has

been Rams Head’s commitment to great

food and great beer that has allowed it to

thrive in Savage for nearly thirty years.

Explore automotive history

at

Bob’s Vintage BMW

Museum

. Showcasing

more than sixty-five

vintage and classic

BMW motorcycles and

side cars, memorabilia,

and more, the museum

is free to the public.

The original

Sweet Cascades

Chocolatier

opened in 2005 in

Old Ellicott City and was able to

expand thanks to its loyal following.

Offering a selection that ranges from

traditional truffles all the way to chocolate-

covered bacon, every sweet creation is

hand-made and mouth-watering. (You can

also find their chocolates, milkshakes and

other sweet treats at the

Say Cheese Grill

,

located across from the chocolate shop.)

Savage’s own Joshua Barney

fought heroically in the American

Revolutionary War and the War of

1812. You can learn more about him

and lots of other cool info at the

self-serve

Howard County Visitor

Lounge

located in the New Weave

Building at Historic Savage Mill.

Get fresh, authentic French

breads, croissants, and pastries

at

The huge complex at

Historic

Savage Mill

now serves as a
