lewife is a restaurant
located in the heart of
Baltimore known for good
beer and a wide variety of
craft beers on tap. Located
in downtown Baltimore, across the
street from the Hippodrome theatre,
Alewife has over 40 different beers
from all over the world on draft. The
combination of great beer and an
outstanding menu makes Alewife
an ideal restaurant for date nights,
large parties, or any occasion.
The restaurant’s signature dish—
smoked burger—was featured on
Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives
, hosted
by Guy Fieri. The combination
of the smoked burger with any
Maryland craft beer is delectable.
In 2008, Owner Bryan Palombo
sparked the idea of building a bar.
The bar’s unique space and rustic
atmosphere is just another aspect
adding to the bar’s success. Owner
Bryan says, “At any given time we have
8 or 9 local beers on tap.” There is a
constant rotation of beers daily. When
Bryan was asked about how he decided
to carry local breweries, he responded,
“I don’t sell anything simply because
its local, just the best quality.” A great
relationship stands strong between
Alewife and the local breweries.
Once a year Alewife has an entire
night dedicated to local beers
called Hometown Hoedown! That
night they feature 40 beers all from
