Adult Day Care Centers

are community-

based facilities that provide care for adults

who need assistance or supervision during

the day. These programs offer support

to caregivers so they can go to work or

manage personal business. Most adult day

care facilities are open on weekdays and

some have extended and weekend hours.

These programs are important resources

that can help families avoid the need for

out-of-home placement of a loved one.

There are two types of adult day care; adult

social day care and adult medical care.
