Aviation Museum
At the Glenn L. Martin Maryland Avia-
tion Museum, located at Martin State
Airport, you’ll explore aviation and aero-
space history. The museum chronicles
the accomplishments of Glenn L. Mar-
tin, whose Middle River plant manufac-
tured World War II bombers. The gal-
lery also focuses on the operations of
the Lockheed Martin Corporation, the
company’s present-day business. A big
draw is the museum’s display of historic
aircraft, including fighter jets, bombers,
reconnaissance planes and airliners.
Fire Museum of Maryland
Considered one of the finest museums
of its kind in the United States, the Fire
Museum of Maryland in Lutherville fea-
tures displays of more than
50 firefighting rigs spanning
from 1806 to 1957. As an
educational institution, the
Fire Museum offers a variety
of special events for children,
firefighters, and adults to in-
troduce visitors to the history
of firefighters, antique fire ap-
paratus, and related memo-
rabilia.
