your Maryland craft
beverages in one
place at Benny’s 2 Go
liquor store. Moving
from a restaurant, to
a brewery, to a liquor
store, Benny’s Pub
franchise has truly
taken off in the past
15 years. Located
in Hagerstown,
the three-part
business’s most
recent addition in the liquor store venue is only two years old and
represents the best place in Western Maryland to buy craft beers and
wines. Preferably known as the “brewtique,” Benny’s 2 Go features
a vast selection of the best Maryland craft drinks to its patrons, and
upon request can order beverages which are not currently in stock.
“It’s about being realistic,” said Amy Lowry, the store’s manager.
“We have to be aware and listen to our customers about what their
tastes are and what they want to drink, that’s why we’re successful.”
Owner and operator Bill Skomski Sr. concurred with her thoughts
about the success of the liquor store being a two-way street. “We
did this initially because we wanted more space for the (Antietam)
brewery, but it quickly turned into its own thing,” he said. “This store
displays Maryland craft beverages and makes them more readily
available, and that goal took form and it’s what we work for now.”
