A sure sign of spring’s arrival is this
two-day street festival in downtown
Towson. One of Maryland’s largest
outdoor festivals features four enter-
tainment stages, 450 food vendors,
beer and wine gardens, children’s
shows and games, and more.
Star Spangled Spectacular

The Baltimore Symphony Orches-
tra (BSO) draws thousands of
music lovers to Oregon Ridge Park
in Cockeysville for its annual Star-
Spangled Spectacular concert and
fireworks shows, part of the BSO’s
summer concert series at the park.

to the Hot August Music Festival which
celebrates raw, emotional blues and roots
music.
Defenders Day at North Point
S E P T E M B E R
History comes alive at Fort Howard Park,
which features picturesque views of the
Chesapeake Bay in Edgemere. Defenders
Day commemorates the area’s role in the
War of 1812 and the defense of Baltimore
from British forces, leading to the writing
of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Activities
include battle re-enactments, living history
presentations, music, and children’s
games.
