AS THE CHI LDHOOD HOME

of baseball’s

Iron Man, Cal Ripken Jr., one could say that

sports are a part of Harford County’s heritage.

Every year more than 15,000 families with

baseball players between the ages of 8 and

18 aspire to learn baseball the Ripken Way,

attending camps and tournaments at The

Cedar Lane Regional Park

’s 12 grass

fields and one turf field, along with

Carsin’s Run Park’s 12 fields, welcome

tournaments that require significant

space and well-kept fields. Cedar

Lane Regional Park hosts 15 major

tournaments each year, attracting

more than 500,000 visitors annually.

The facility hosts 15 major leagues

in soccer and lacrosse, including the

U.S Soccer Academy League, the U.S.

Youth Soccer Association Region 1,

Colonial and Pre-Academy Leagues,

as well as the U.S. Women’s Lacrosse

championships. The LAX Inception

Tournament and the Summer Sizzle

are two of the largest recruiting

tournaments in the nation.

Teams love Harford County’s

proximity to Baltimore, Philadelphia,

and New York. With more than 2,700

hotel rooms close by and tons of great

restaurants, players can make the most

of their experience on and off the field.

Six public golf courses can be found in

Harford County, including Maryland’s

#1-rated golf course and the Mid-

Atlantic’s only 5-star Golf Destination,

Bulle Rock. In 2016,

Bulle Rock

was named to GOLF Magazine’s

‘Top 100 Courses You Can Play’ list

because here you can experience

world class golf at spectacular rates.

The

APGFCU Arena

at

Harford

Community College

is the largest

indoor venue in Northeastern

Under Armour. The

Ripken Complex

located

in Aberdeen consists of six youth fields and

two full-sized baseball fields, each with its

own historic design; plus additional baseball

amenities such as batting cages, practice fields

and concessions. Ripken Stadium is home of

the Orioles Short Season Single A affiliate,

the

Aberdeen IronBirds

. But did you know

that baseball greatness is just the beginning

of Harford County’s sports destination

?

Thousands of soccer and lacrosse players

from throughout the mid-Atlantic are quickly

becoming fans of Cedar Lane Sports Complex.
