FROM THE SCENIC WATERFRONT parks in
the southern part of the county to the lovely
rolling hills and impressive rock formations
in the northern part, Harford’s scenic spaces
beckon to the explorer in each of us.
Rocks State Park, situated on 850 acres bordering
Deer Creek, is just eight miles north of Bel Air. The
throne-like rock formation called the King and
Queen Seats – where, according to legend, Indian
Chieftains once sat in tribal council – is a popular
feature. Enjoy rock climbing, picnicking, hiking,
birdwatching, tubing, canoeing, fishing and seasonal
bow hunting, all within the borders of the park.
