Howard County may be your destination wedding away
from it all, but you’ll find it’s in the heart of it all. The region
offers plenty of options for adrenaline-rush adventures
or lazy leisure for the wedding party and guests. Howard
County is known for its lovely lakes and award-winning
parks – connected by more than 100 miles of paved scenic
trails, where you can meander past wildflowers, wildlife and
even waterfalls. Home to the Patapsco Valley State Park,
affectionately referred to as “Moab East” by mountain biking
enthusiasts, Howard County is an oasis of eco-tourism
activities in the Baltimore-Washington region. You’ll find
gravity-defying ziplines, horseback riding, two state-of-
the-art Nature Centers for hands-on learning, and hot air
balloon rides at sunrise or sunset. If you’re itching to get out
and play before or after the big day, consider mini-golf or
batting cages, petting farms, driving ranges, skate-parks,
swim centers and ice rinks. If you are craving a night out on
the town, visit nearby casinos, enjoy a movie, or try some
dance lessons. In warmer months, you can even enjoy the
Bard under the stars thanks to the Chesapeake Shakespeare
Company, or your favorite band at Merriweather Post
Pavilion.
