MD Brew Pub Spring Summer 2016

Thanks for picking up a copy of the third edition of the

Maryland Brew Pub

. The industry is growing, and we’re thrilled

to share more great news about our brewing community.

The Brewers Association of Maryland represents over 50

distilleries in Maryland and is assisting many startups

through the licensing process. It’s a vibrant group that meets

regularly to discuss laws, regulations, agriculture and more.

We also gather breweries together for unique

events that highlight the industry.

The Maryland Craft Beer Festival is one of our benchmark

events. It will be held Saturday, May 14 in Frederick at Carroll

Creek Park. The event sells out and hosts over 30 breweries—

including some not yet open to the public. It’s a great venue

for sipping through new brews to find your next favorite.

And be sure to join us for our premier fall event on

Saturday, October 22 at the Canton Waterfront in

Baltimore for our Baltimore Craft Beer Festival. Check

for more details about the event.

In this issue, you’ll find a highlight of our farm breweries,

including our newest farm brewery: Waredaca. We also

highlight beer made from local ingredients, our hops

growers and David Myers from UMD Extension.
