In our vineyard, everything is done by hand. From
winter pruning to summer hedging, weed control to
harvest – it’s all powered by sweat, not oil. We believe
this method of farming makes possible a level of care
few other vineyards experience. Our fingerprints are on
every vine, every grape and every bottle. In our winery,
the goal is balance. We achieve this by timeliness and
attention to detail; it’s hands-on. From dumping grape
clusters into the destemmer, and hand sorting single
berries as they run across the sorting table, to transferring
grapes using gravity rather than pumps – it’s not the easy
way, but we believe wine reflects its maker’s passion.

Serpent Ridge Vineyard is Westminster’s first vineyard
winery and offers award-winning wines, premium wine
tastings, wine by the glass and retail sales. We specialize
in small lots of hand-crafted wine from grapes grown
in our vineyards, select Maryland vineyards and other
carefully chosen sites. Come and enjoy the beauty of
the vineyard while relaxing with a glass of wine.
Wednesday–Friday Noon–5pm, Saturdays and
Sundays 10:30am–6pm. Or make any day a special
event by having your own personal or group
tasting. Reservations are required for 8 or more.
